By using STAT Outdoors, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign up through a third-party provider (e.g., Apple or Google), we receive your name and email from that provider.

Trip Log Data

When you create a trip log, we collect the information you provide including sport category, date, time, activity details, notes, and photos. This data is stored in your account and used to generate analytics and insights.

Location Data

With your permission, we collect GPS coordinates when you create Spots or log trips. Location data is used to associate trips with specific locations, generate location-specific analytics, and retrieve accurate weather data. You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings.

Weather Data

We automatically retrieve weather data (temperature, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, moon phase, and conditions) from third-party weather services based on the date, time, and location of your trip logs. This data is stored alongside your logs to power weather patterning and analytics features.

Trail Camera Data

PRO subscribers may upload trail camera photos and create sighting logs. These images and associated metadata are stored in your account.

Device and Usage Information

We automatically collect device type, operating system version, app version, and general usage patterns (e.g., features accessed, session duration) to improve the Service. We use Vercel Analytics on our website, which collects anonymous, aggregated usage data without cookies.

Payment Information

PRO subscription payments are processed by Apple (App Store) on iOS or Stripe on Android and web. We do not store your credit card number or payment details. We receive only a transaction confirmation and subscription status from these providers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service including trip logging, analytics, weather patterning, and ML-powered predictions
• Generate personalized insights, season reports, and trip scores based on your logged data
• Retrieve and store weather data associated with your trip logs
• Enable shared Spots so multiple users can contribute data to a common location
• Send service-related communications (e.g., account confirmations, Field Staff updates, feature announcements)
• Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage trends to improve features and performance
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the Service

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• Shared Spots: When you share a Spot with other users, they can see trip logs and analytics associated with that Spot. You control which Spots are shared.
• Service Providers: We use third-party services for hosting (Vercel), weather data retrieval, email delivery (Formspree for contact forms), analytics, and payment processing. These providers access only the data necessary to perform their services.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and trip log data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure cloud hosting, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and Export: You can access all your trip logs and data within the app at any time.
• Correction: You can edit or update your trip logs and account information at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete individual trip logs or request full account deletion by contacting us at info@statoutdoors.com.
• Location: You can disable location access through your device settings. Some features (weather auto-capture, Spot creation) will be limited without location access.
• Communications: You can opt out of non-essential emails by following the unsubscribe link in any email.

8. California Residents (CCPA)

9. Children's Privacy

STAT Outdoors is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
